What's on the plate

The base is a generous slice of sourdough, toasted until the crust crackles. On top, a soft layer of scrambled eggs, then fanned avocado and a scattering of black and white sesame. On the side, a small rocket and cherry tomato salad with a drizzle of olive oil to refresh the palate between bites. That's it — and that's the point: with so few ingredients, you can taste whether they're good.

Make it yours

From the menu you can add smoked salmon, an extra scrambled egg, extra avocado or a spoonful of guacamole. If you'd rather try a different toast, the same section has a Salmon Toast (smoked salmon, Philadelphia, rocket, olives and capers), a Truffle Toast with mushrooms and truffle, and a Chicken & Mushroom. Just ask at the counter — allergens are listed on the menu.

Avocado toast and Pan Kimchi on a table at FYSA

What to drink with it

Avocado is creamy and mild: it wants something to refresh it or wake it up. Our favourite pairings are a matcha latte (hot or iced), a flat white made with our specialty coffee roasted by a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, or a glass of cold brew tea — light and unsweetened.

When to come

Avocado toast is part of our brunch, which we serve all day, every day from 9:00 to 19:00 — not just at breakfast, and not just at weekends. Around noon on Saturday and Sunday the room fills up: for a table without waiting, come before 10:30 or on a weekday, when it's calmer. No booking needed.

Where we are

FYSA is at Piazza di Ponte Lungo 1, Rome — San Giovanni / Appio Latino, on the border with Tuscolano. From Metro A, take the "Piazza Ponte Lungo" exit: we're right there, a 1-minute walk. If you're staying nearby, it's an easy breakfast-or-lunch stop before heading into the centre — Metro A runs straight to San Giovanni, Termini and Spagna. Find us on Instagram at @fysa_cafe.
